More Stories by Aaron. Hugh Jackman is coming out of retirement as Wolverine. The actor will return to his signature X-Men role in the upcoming Deadpool 3, Reynolds posted on Twitter.
Reynolds first appeared as Wade Wilson (Deadpool) in the 2009 Fox/Marvel movie X-Men: Origins: Wolverine — which, of course, starred Hugh Jackman.
Deadpool 3’s development apparently predates the Fox-Disney deal, which closed in early 2019. Disney has confirmed Reynolds’ announcement of Deadpool 3
The film has been slated for release on September 6, 2024, as per the announcement.
